ISO metric thread gauges are precision tools used to check the accuracy and conformity of ISO metric screw threads (external or internal) according to standards like ISO 68, ISO 261, or ISO 965. There are two main types of thread gauges: 1. Go and No-Go Gauges These are used for checking the dimensional tolerance of threads: Go Gauge (Plug for internal threads / Ring for external threads): Should fit perfectly, confirming that the part is within the lower limit. No-Go Gauge: Should not fit, confirming that the part doesn't exceed the upper limit. 2. Types of ISO Metric Thread Gauges Thread Plug Gauges: Used for internal (female) threads like nuts or threaded holes. Thread Ring Gauges: Used for external (male) threads like bolts or screws. 3. Thread Gauge Classes They are made according to ISO tolerance classes, commonly: 6g for external threads (bolt) 6H for internal threads (nut) 4. Usage Tips Ensure the workpiece is clean before gauging. Do not force the gauges; "Go" should enter smoothly, and "No-Go" should not go beyond 2 turns (generally).
